This week in Science, we have been testing some everyday materials and classroom objects to see whether electricity can travel through them.

We then used this information to help us to decide whether these materials were conductors or insulators and we plotted these onto a Venn diagram to help us see any patterns.

It’s been all about words in Year 4 this week (…just kidding…it is every week!) however we have introduced a new strategy called ’taking our words for a walk’. The children have been examining words and thinking about how they could be used in many different contexts and encounters. Could you try this at home?

We have also tasked the children with hunting down their fuse box at home with the help of an adult!

4H were getting hands on with our electrical circuits this afternoon. We were playing matching pairs with the electrical symbol and experimenting with making some simple electrical circuits.
